Plugin updates

In order to add new functionalities, to stay up to date with the WordPress software evolution, to correct bugs, HBook plugin is regularly updated.

Updating does not affect the content of your site. All the settings and data associated with the plugin will stay the same.

Updating HBook

There are 3 ways to update the plugin:

Whatever method you choose, you should back up your website. It is not compulsory, but backing up your entire installation (entire directory structure + database) periodically is a good idea, especially before making any updates to themes, plugins, core files, etc. Learn more about backups here.

Automatic update

When a new version of HBook is released, you will see a notification on the plugins page, and you will be able to update in one click thanks to the Update now action.

Upload from the Plugins page

If you do not see the link to update HBook, but you have checked on HBook Changelog that a new version is available, you can upload the zip directly from the WordPress Plugins page.

  1. If you bought or renewed HBook directly on our website, go to Maestrel Downloads page to download HBook zip.
    Else, go to the Downloads page of CodeCanyon and download the plugin again.

  2. On your WordPress Plugins admin page, click on “Add plugin” and then “Upload plugin”.

  3. Select the hbook.zip file you have downloaded.

  4. You will be asked if you wish to replace the current files with the uploaded files. Confirm that you wish to proceed.

When you download the plugin, be it on our website or on Envato, you always get the latest version available.

FTP or File Manager update

  1. If you bought or renewed HBook directly on our website, go to Maestrel Downloads page to download HBook zip.
    Else, go to the Downloads page of CodeCanyon and download the plugin again.

  2. Go to the plugin page and deactivate HBook plugin

  3. On your server, delete the hbook folder, which is located in wp-content/plugins (note that this will not delete the HBook settings since they are stored in your WordPress installation).

If you are using FTP:

  1. Unzip the plugin as you need to get an unzipped hbook folder that can be uploaded on your server later on

  2. Transfer the hbook folder to the wp-content/plugins/ folder on your server

If you are working from your File Manager:

  1. Upload the hbook.zip file into the wp-content/plugins/ folder on your server and extract it

  2. In the Plugins page, find HBook and click Activate Plugin

Notifications of an update release for Maestrel purchase

If you purchased HBook as a package with one of our themes on Maestrel, we will send a notification by email each time a new version of HBook is released. You always have the option to "unsubscribe" from these notifications.

When you purchase Hbook directly on our website, make sure you check the “I wish to receive an email notification when a new version of HBook is available” option. If you’re not already subscribed, you can do so here.

Notifications of an update release for CodeCanyon purchase

Plugin update notifications for HBook will soon be sent directly by Maestrel instead of Envato. Register your notification preferences now to not miss HBook plugin updates.
