What's new in HBook version 2.1?

Version 2.1 of HBook introduces various features related to the payments.

You can now share payment links to your customers. A payment link is a unique link to your payment page, with preset values. You can now generate and send payment links for:

  • Deposit or Full payment

  • Remaining balance

  • Security bond

  • Custom amounts

  • Asking a customer to add a payment method (for later charge/refund)

These links are currently available only with Stripe, with more payment gateways to follow soon. We will be progressively updating our payment gateway add-ons for HBook.

Payment page

When a customer clicks a payment link, they’re taken to a dedicated payment page on your website. You can customize this payment page and display a reservation summary, including reservation details and payments history. As it is a page on your website, you can as well display any information you wish to share on that page.

You can optionally redirect users to a custom “Thank You” page after payment.

You can as well have specific email templates sent upon payment made via payment link or upon payment method added via payment link.

As for any text displayed by HBook, you can modify the texts displayed on the payment page and for the “Thank you” messages in HBook > Text.

Where are the new location for previous information/actions?

Some information is now available at a different place, and some actions have to be done differently, from version 2.1.

Stripe Charge or Refund

These actions are now done as well from the “Edit payments” pop-up. It is important to mention, that a Stripe payment method has to be stored in order to charge or refund a customer.

Stripe charge

You can select a link, for example “Remaining balance”, which will autofill the form, or enter a custom amount to charge.
