This issue may occur if a WordPress capability introduced in HBook version 2.1.7 was not correctly applied during the update. This capability is required for the HBook Connect menu and was added in preparation for a subsequent HBook Connect update.
How to fix the issue
To restore the HBook Connect menu, follow these steps:

In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins.

Deactivate HBook Connect.

Deactivate HBook.

Reactivate HBook.

Reactivate HBook Connect.
HBook Connect requires HBook to be active, so make sure to reactivate HBook before reactivating HBook Connect.
Will I lose my settings?
No. Deactivating and reactivating HBook or HBook Connect will not cause you to lose your plugin settings.
Once both plugins have been reactivated, the HBook Connect menu should be visible again.
