Can I use my current pages and add HBook elements to them?

If you have already created pages to showcase your accommodation types, you can indeed use the page you have already created instead of HBook accommodation type post.

How to link my own pages to HBook Accommodation types?

Let's say that you have already created pages to showcase your rooms, and you wish now to add HBook booking system. You will create HBook accommodation types only to provide the settings for the booking system (occupancy, descriptions for the search results, number of accommodation of this type).

For each HBook accommodation type, you will indicate in the Accommodation display section the ID of the page that you wish to use for showing the accommodation. It can be a theme page, a custom post type page, etc...

To find out what is the ID of the page you wish to use, you will check the url of the page when you edit it. For example: www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=213&action=edit. This tells you that the post/page ID is 213.

It has several effects:

  • You can then use HBook shortcodes on your theme page without specifying the “accom_id” parameter. HBook will know what accommodation type is concerned.

  • At the accommodation selection step of the booking process, the “View accommodation” button will redirect to your theme page.

  • At the accommodation selection step of the booking process, if you have set that the thumbnail and title of the accommodation type should link to the accommodation page, it will open your theme page.

  • In the accommodation list, if you have set that the thumbnail should link to the accommodation page, it will open your theme page.
