Is HBook ready for European GDPR (General data protection regulation)? Can I set a Privacy Policy checkbox?
HBook includes a Privacy Policy checkbox option with the possibility to link to your Privacy Policy page. It allows you as well to easily manage all user rights introduced by GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). Please find below the different aspects regarding HBook plugin and GDPR.
Booking form
You can set a compulsory check box for that purpose. It works the same way as the current “Terms and Conditions” checkbox. It is highly recommended to separate your Privacy Policy and your Terms and Conditions. You will be able to add a link to a “Privacy policy” page of your own. In this page, you should indicate which data is collected and how the customer can contact you to claim their Right to Access, Right to Be Forgotten and Data Portability right.
Customer data
When setting up the booking details form, you can decide which data belongs to the customer and which ones belong to the Reservation. All data that you set in HBook > Forms as belonging to the “Customer” is forming the information associated to a customer ID.
HBook has a “Customers” menu where you can search a customer, edit the data and delete the data:
You can already delete a customer if he claims his “Right to be forgotten”.
You can already export in CSV all customer data. This is what you need for the “Right of access” and “Data portability”
Share of data to third-party
Customer data might be transmitted to third-party only with the iCal synchronization. There are 2 fields that could contain customer data, which are “Summary” and “Description” for each iCal event created. We have added the possibility to customize the information that is passed in these fields, so you can clearly choose what information is shared or not and inform your customers in your Privacy Policy.
