Can I offer different boarding options?

HBook does not have a built-in setting to set accommodation rates with different boarding plans.

You have two different ways to proceed with HBook in order to offer full-board/half-board/breakfast or room only rates. Depending on your project, you may prefer one or the other.

Using the extra-services

In HBook > Extra-services, you will create a new extra-service that will have multiple options. You can set as options your different plans with the additional price to pay, depending on each option. The price can be per guest per day, and it can be set differently for “Adults” and “Children”.

After selecting the accommodation, your customer will set which boarding option he prefers. The price will be adjusted automatically. You can see an example of this in one of our demo: https://demos.maestrel.com/adomus-3/.

The downside of this option is that extra-services prices can not be different according to season. So if your boarding options have different rates (for example low-season rates and high-season rates), you might prefer to use the other option described below.

Duplicating your accommodation types

You will copy your existing Accommodation Types in order to create different Accommodation plans. Let’s say I have a “Double room” accommodation type. It will duplicate it to offer, for example, "Double room with half-board" and "Double room with full-board". In HBook > Rates, I will set the rates for each of them.

When a customer will run a search, he will see both options directly in the search results, with the boarding option price already included in the accommodation price calculation.

As you will have duplicated the accommodation types, you will need to use the setting "Accommodation that need to be automatically blocked when this accommodation type is booked". This setting can be found in the section “Automatic blockings” of each Accommodation Type settings. In my example, it means that when a customer books a "Double room half-board", HBook will automatically block a "Double room full-board" for these dates. Availability is always accurate, even if you have duplicated your accommodation types.
