How to share my bank details for a bank transfer payment method?
If you choose to offer offline payments for reservations, and want customers to pay their reservation via bank transfer payment method, you can follow these steps to share your bank details to your customers.
Changing the text displayed on your website
In HBook > Text > Payment choice, you will be able to modify the “Explanation text for offline payment”. This allows you to communicate additional information to the customer, and provide payment method instructions for their reservation.
You can also add further information during the different steps of the booking process. Please do not hesitate to check this article from our knowledge base.
Including payment instructions in the automatic emails
We recommend sharing your bank details in an email template, for example in the automatic email that is sent to the customer once he has booked on your website. In HBook > Emails, you will create/update an email template that is sent “Upon event”, and choose the event “New reservation”.
In the case of a payment by bank transfer, the customer did not pay online to book an accommodation, so the payment status for the reservation will be “Unpaid”. In the email template settings, you will therefore set that this email template is sent out for reservation with “Unpaid” payment status. By doing so, your customers who pay by bank transfer will receive an email with the bank details information to proceed for the reservation payment.
If you offer the choice to your customer to pay online or to pay by bank transfer, you can have different emails sent to your customers, depending on the payment status.
For example, an email with instructions to pay a deposit by bank transfer if the customer selected to pay by bank transfer. And a different email for customers who paid a deposit online, with the confirmation of payment.
