Are the automatic emails sent as well for reservations imported via iCal?
There are 2 types of automatic emails:
Emails that are triggered by an event
Emails that are scheduled
When a reservation is imported from an external calendar, thanks to the iCal synchronization, here is the behavior of HBook regarding automatic
The general rule is that automatic emails are sent out as long as there is a recipient email defined.
When the recipient is the customer (variable [customer_email]) : if a customer is associated to the reservation, the email will be sent out. If the reservation does not have a customer, then it will not be sent.
By default, HBook does not send the email set to be sent “Upon new reservation(from website)”. If you wish to modify this behavior (for example, if you wish to be notified when a reservation is imported from iCal), you will modify the option

How to provide customer email for reservations imported via iCal?
For reservations imported from an iCal calendar, it is each platform/agenda who provide the information they wish to share in their export iCal calendar. Sometimes, a customer email is provided, but some platforms/agenda do not share any customer information.
When HBook import reservations from an iCal calendar, if there is a customer email provided by the external calendar, then a HBook customer is created and the reservation is associated to this customer.
If it is not provided, then there is no customer information for the reservation, but you can add this information manually. In the column “Customer”, you can select a customer or provide customer information. If you wish to have future automatic emails sent out, you will add the customer email address.
